Kanta Dihal
Ως ακαδημαϊκός, η Δρ Kanta Dihal μελετά την επικοινωνία περίπλοκων επιστημονικών ιδεών. Είναι μεταδιδακτορική ερευνήτρια στο Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence του Πανεπιστημίου του Cambridge.
Εκεί συμμετέχει στο AI Narratives, ένα ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα το οποίο εστιάζει στον τρόπο με τον οποίο αντιλαμβανόμαστε την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη μέσα από πλασματικές και μη ιστορίες: την επιστημονική φαντασία, τα παιδικά βιβλία και την εκλαϊκευμένη επιστήμη. Αυτή την περίοδο συγγράφει ένα βιβλίο βασισμένο στη διδακτορική διατριβή της, “The Stories of Quantum Physics”, μέσα από το οποίο εξετάζει τους τρόπους με τους οποίους μιλάμε για την κβαντική φυσική στους ενήλικες, τα παιδιά, ακόμα και τα… μωρά! Έχει αρθρογραφήσει για την δουλειά της στην “Huffington Post”, στην “The Conversation” και στη “New Scientist”.
An academic, Dr Kanta Dihal studies the communication of complex scientific ideas. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence in University of Cambridge. In her research project, AI Narratives, she explores the public understanding of AI as it is constructed by fictional and nonfictional stories: science fiction, children’s books, and popular science.
She is currently working on a book based on her PhD thesis, “The Stories of Quantum Physics”, in which she investigates the ways in which we talk about quantum physics to adults, children, and even babies! She has written about her work for the “Huffington Post”, “The Conversation” and “New Scientist”.
