Xenofon Kontargiris

Xenofon is a lawyer, specialising in legal advice on Business, IT and Procurement. Having been eagerly following trends in entrepreneurship and the Web already as an undergraduate at the Aristotle’s University Law Faculty (Thessaloniki) from where he obtained his LLB in 2007, he moved on to pursue an LLM in International & EU Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2008) and, currently, studies as a PhD freshman on the topic of Cloud Computing Regulation (A.U.Th. Law, 2013).

He has worked as a legal assistant for Apogee IS and NATO’s Greek Combat Unit and as a Communications & Training officer for the European Commission. Today, he is a freelance attorney based in Thessaloniki, Greece and a teaching & research Assistant for the Jean Monnet Chair of European Constitutional Law & Culture at the A.U.Th. Law Faculty. Additionally, he is a member and co-founder of here2organize-H2O, a team developing tools for provision of business services online.

In his free time, he enjoys jogging and playing tennis, is an avid cinema goer and music addict, loves learning foreign languages, as he believes they are his most valuable tool in getting to know and understand as much of the ideas and people out there as possible, and adores travelling (especially to anywhere new). He deeply believes in the importance of volunteerism and team work holding proof for that the fact that through the causes and projects he has volunteered for so far, he has lived some of his coolest experiences and met some of the most remarkable people in his life to date.

As a born-optimist, he strives to remain like that despite setbacks and goes by the rule ‘it’s better to give it a shot than remain with the afterthought that you didn’t give it a try’..!
