Viewing life through the information lens

Science & Technology

How can we master the cyber-world we live in along with the threats and opportunities it brings about? This is the challenge that the “society of information” posits to us, according to the distinguished computer scientist Joseph Sifakis. In a fascinating talk in which technology meets philosophy, Sifakis argues that, although immaterial, information is the most precious commodity of our times. However, in democratizing information, technology calls for our responsibility both in dealing with cyber-crime and in making the most of it in the domains of transportation, resource management and health with the ultimate aim to view our world differently.
