Yannis Momtsios

Giannis Momtsios is a graduate of the department of English language and literature (Aristotle university of Thessaloniki) and of Business administration of the American College of Thessaloniki. He is self-taught in seven musical instruments i.e. flute, guitar, piano, lute, tympani, pipe and glockenspiel. He has attended seminars on acting, speech training, mimicry, creation and vivification of puppet etc. He participated in various theatrical teams of the Aristotle university by creating music for theatrical performances and taking part in directing. Giannis cooperated with the art theatre “Aktis Aeliou” taking part in musico-theatrical performances as a musician-actor. He wrote music for theatrical performances of Aktis Aeliou, Eclipsis Group Theater, Drasis team Ano Throsko and others. He is a founding member of the puppet theatre company “Redicolo”, and since 2011 he has been working on puppet creation, directing, music composition, and encouragement for the performances of the theatre company. In addition to these, Giannis is a teacher of English, translator, sound engineer, and a video and music producer.

Ο Γιάννης Μόμτσιος είναι απόφοιτος του τμήματος Αγγλικής Φιλολογίας και Φιλολογίας του ΑΠΘ και Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του American College of Thessaloniki. Αυτοδίδακτος σε 7 μουσικά όργανα: φλάουτο, κιθάρα, πιάνο, λαούτο, κρουστά, φλογέρα, μεταλλόφωνο.

Παρακολούθησε σεμινάρια υποκριτικής, ορθοφωνίας, παντομίμας, κατασκευής και εμψύχωσης κούκλας κ.α. Συμμετείχε πολλές φοιτητικές θεατρικές του ΑΠΘ, συνθέτοντας μουσική για θεατρικές παραστάσεις και συμμετέχοντας στη σκηνοθεσία. Ο Γιάννης συνεργάστηκε με το Θέατρο Τέχνης “Ακτίς Αελίου” συμμετέχοντας σε μουσικοθεατρικές παραστάσεις ως μουσικός – ηθοποιός. Έγραψε μουσική για θεατρικές παραστάσεις του Θεάτρου Τέχνης Ακτίς Αελίου, του Eclipsis Group Theater, της Ομάδας Δράσης Άνω Θρώσκω κ.α. Ιδρυτικό μέλος του Κουκλοθιάσου Redicolo, από το 2011 ασχολείται με κατασκευή κουκλών, σκηνοθεσία, σύνθεση μουσικής, εμψύχωση για τις παραστάσεις του θιάσου. Παράλληλα ασχολείται με μαθήματα αγγλικών, μεταφράσεις, ηχοληψία και παραγωγή μουσικής και βίντεο.
