Christos Stergiou is a young entrepreneur, founder and CEO of  TrueGreece, a luxury travel company with a dual presence in Greece and the U.S. Since 2008, he has been named one of the world’s Top Travel Specialists by Condé Nast Traveler Magazine, and since 2009 he has been included in Travel and Leisure’s A-List of top travel specialists globally.

Growing up in Athens and on the island of Patmos, Christos learned the art of hospitality at his family owned hotel & suites. Before returning to Greece, he spent nine years studying and working in the U.S. After graduating from Brandeis University with a degree in Economics, Christos spent three years working at Charles River Associates, Inc. and obtained an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Throughout the years, Christos frequently found himself helping friends plan trips to Greece and often met these friends in the islands, guiding them along their way. Soon he realised that there were few appealing alternatives that balanced personalised luxury with authenticity for travellers wishing to visit the Greek Islands.

With the help of Ben Rowe, a fellow graduate of Stanford Business School, TrueGreece developed from a great idea into a professionally run and creatively managed business. The company organises private customised trips to the Greek islands and mainland and aims at offering an experience focused on authenticity, intimacy, and personalised luxury. According to visitors, Christos is the man that “will have you swim in the crystal-clear waters off isolated beaches, sail by traditional wooden boat to desert islands, join in village celebrations or learning how to make authentic spanakopita.” Most recently, he launched TrueTurkey and TrueItalia as distinct brands of the TrueGreece parent company.
