Maria Giokarini

Maria holds a Bachelor in International and European Studies and a Master in

International Relations from University of Macedonia. She got involved with TEDx

Thessaloniki from 2011, at first as a volunteer and then as member of the organizing

team. She believes that life is about the people you meet and the things you create

with them! This became Maria’s moto over the years. Taking up project after project,

keeping her mind busy and her hands full, Maria finds motivation in contributing into

different efforts from political causes to social work and getting inspired by people.

She has a professional background on project management, having worked at the

Ministry of Transport and Networks and at the University of Macedonia where her

main duties included event planning and Press office support. She tends to keep

things rather organized and regulated topped with a little versatility, in order to spark

creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. She loves traveling, sailing, always finding an

opportunity to create something new, to explore something unfamiliar, to give and

support, to make a difference!
